About Tatiana

Tatiana is a born and raised Illinoisan! While born in Chicago, she spent most of her youth in Southern, IL. Growing up in a predominately white small town area taught her to see the world differently than other people. And it is through her writing that she shares her unique perspective and outlook on issues.

Tatiana has always been dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and justice, which led to her earning a  bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Illinois College. There, she discovered a love for psychology that has not gone away. That love has impacted her view on the importance of Mental Health Awareness and giving back to communities and people in need.

She had dedicated most of her adult life to improving the lives of people around her, from working as a Social Worker to joining the PeaceCorps. She uses writing to describe the world she sees and hopefully impart seeds of awareness and understanding to her readers.  Most notably, she was recognized by the Global Black Caucus of Democrats Abroad for her talent and poetry and named a Poet Laurate in 2021. Her style of writing ranges from prose poetry to realistic short fiction and more recently she has branched into writing theater scripts.

Tatiana created the Hopelessly Tatiana podcast to use history and real-life experiences to provide another perspective on complex issues. She provides her perspective as Black Bi Woman in a divided world. She believes it is important to know that we can disagree with each other respectfully. She hopes to use her podcast to teach people to see each other as human beings who deserve the same support and opportunities to become our best selves.

Tatiana’s goal is to use her platform to raise awareness for issues that are not only near and dear to her heart but directly impact the lives of people who are often unable to speak for themselves.  She is currently working on several writing and awareness-related projects, so keep your eyes peeled.
